This photo was taken on March 22nd 1959 by Mabel Chinnery. Mrs. Chinnery and her husband had driven to the graveyard in in Ipswich, Suffolk, to visit the graveside of Mrs. Chinnery's mother, Ellen Hammell, who had died the week before.

Mrs. Chinnery had taken photos of the grave and after she had done that. she decided to use up the last shot on the film roll by taking a photo of her husband in his car.

When the roll of film was developed, a friend of Mrs. Chinnery was looking through the photos and pointed out the figure in the back of the Chinnery's car and remarked it looked just like Ellen Hammell.
