Church Hauntings at Christmas Episode 26- Christmas happens in the dark month of December and with daylight hours being few, the darkness is illuminated with Christmas lights to bring about a sense of comfort and celebration. In those dark corners, where the lights can’t reach, it’s easy to think that ghost’s dwell there, so it’s no surprise that many ghostly spectres are seen around Christmastide. For this Christmas episode, I’ll share 2 of those spooky Yuletide experiences.

The Gloucestershire Ghost House- Episode 25 -There are areas in the county of Gloucestershire that are quite beautiful; some wooded, some open landscapes, mined quarries, lots of sweeping hills and meandering waterways, all which have played their part in how the county has evolved. Part of that landscape are the ghosts that haunt the areas and the houses of those who have made Gloucestershire their home. Do those, who once lived here, come back from the dead and haunt the areas that they loved so much?

The Poltergeist of Byron Street- This Halloween episode is called The Poltergeist of Byron Street and it’s a lesser talked about historic haunting. This case happened in the Cheshire town of Runcorn,  in the early 1950’s and it had many witnesses, lots of interventions by different groups and the activity was also witnessed at other addresses.  The activity was to last for around 12 weeks.

All the information about this case has come from reports that the local newspapers published, with some of the reporters, who remained unnamed, experiencing some of the poltergeist activities and events and many interviews with those who were to experience these highly unusual events…….

Episode 23 The Somerset Ghost-I take a look at how this photograph came about. It includes 2 well known supernatural investigators and authors of the time, Elliot O’Donnell and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The back story is about one particular young man, who, it seems, wanted interactions with Elliot O’Donnell and went ahead and faked the Somerset Ghost photo in order to do that. But it wasn’t until many years later when Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was to include the photo as a genuine ghost photo in one of his talks, that the man took responsibility for the faked photo……

Summer Chills- Bonus Episode  Here's  a bonus episode of the Mystical Times Blog podcast. Michele Eve is taking a break this month but she has chosen 3 spooky experiences to give your summer the chills....

Episode 22- The Dark History Behind the Ghostly Photograph. For the Spooky Sunday section on my website, I look to find photos that have strange spooky figures that were not seen at the time of the photo being taken and that cannot be easily explained.

Sometimes, I hear about the dark history of the area where the photo was taken and it makes me wonder if those dark deeds have anything to do with the strange unknown figure, innocently captured on a photograph. This is one of those cases.

Episode 21- More Time Slip Experiences- On this episode, I will share 3 more time slip experiences with you. The first experience is pretty terrifying, the second appears quite normal, at first, and the third account is rather strange. All 3 of these experiences have something in common; the weather. Does the weather have a part to play in these time slips? I’ll leave that up to you to decide.

Episode 20- Poltergeists This episode is about Poltergeists, and I will share 3 poltergeist accounts, of which 2 happened on the same housing estate and the third that happened in Gloucestershire. Poltergeist is said to be a German word, which, when translated to English, means “Noisy Ghost”. Poltergeist cases can stop as suddenly as they start and can be aggressive, with items being thrown, slammed, or moved, some cases involve disembodied voices. I’ve even heard about some cases, where the poltergeist actions can be helpful. Whether this activity is caused by the unconscious mind of a human, or the ghosts of the dead, or even by some other, yet unknown factor, these cases are so very intriguing.

Episode 19- Mysterious Happenings at Megalithic Sites

These Stone Age sites are thousands of years old and can be found in many countries. Their original purpose and uses can only be guessed at, but people are still drawn to them today. Some of these sites are visited more than others, usually as they are well known. Some visitors believe these sites imbue some sort of mystical energies, whilst others see these sites as important in knowing the history of those who came before us.... I'll share 3 real life experiences that are as strange as they are spine chilling....

Episode 18 - Even More Ghostly Gloucestershire Hauntings- Gloucestershire is a beautiful & historic county so it’s no surprise that it has its fair share of ghostly tales. From the very haunted Ancient Ram inn, located in Wootton under Edge, to Prestbury, which is said to be the most haunted village in the country, there is a plethora of spooky encounters to be told.

In this episode, you’ll hear about a man’s terrifying encounter in a hostel, that was once a castle, and is located in the Forest of Dean. Then you’ll hear about some of the grey ladies that haunt the county and lastly, some very strange sightings of a huge ghostly knight in the Cotswolds.

Ep 17- The Ghost Children of the Railway Tracks

When a ghost or haunting is experienced or talked about, it gives details of what life that ghost may have lived and perhaps a reason as to why a ghost is seen. Places where there have been horrific accidents or heinous crimes committed, can also harbour ghosts, and its’ through these ghosts and hauntings, that we bring the dead and their stories back to life.

Episode 16- Ghost Animals- Ghost animals have been seen for centuries, whether it was a beloved pet in a house where the owners reside or, if in the open, it can be a creature that can be labelled as a harbinger of bad luck. There have even been cases where horses are seen, either pulling a carriage or has a rider on its back. I’ll share with you 3 experiences of ghost animals in which all 3 are rather different from each other. Don’t forget, if you’ve had a spooky experience, then I want to hear about it. Send your spooky encounters to – spooky@mysticaltimesblog.com

Episode 15- The Ghostly Visit at Christmas- Christmas is a season where families, loved ones and friends, gather together, and celebrate with entertainment, fun and games. The days are shorter, and the darkness of night is longer, so there maybe more of a chance to see the ghosts that roam in the night. This experience that I will share with you, has all of that, with a twist of good fortune too. Its short but rather spooky!

Episode 14 More Ghosts of Gloucestershire The city of Gloucester has a long and varied history, from the Romans settling there, Aethelred and Aethelflaed, Lady of the Mercians, were both buried at St Oswald’s. Franciscan monks and later, Dominican friars settled there and during the civil war, Royalists tried to take Gloucester but were unable to capture it. These are just a few events from Gloucester’s history, but it is no surprise to hear of the hauntings that happen within some of the historic buildings that remain in the city, and here are just 2 of those hauntings…..

Episode 13- Halloween episode- Scary Monsters, Super Creeps

Monsters can be metaphors for human fears, and they are usually scary in their appearance and materialise as though they have been conjured up from a nightmare. What about those monsters, who seem to appear as something familiar to us and then trick us into following them into danger? Both these experiences I will share with you are deeply disturbing and very, very spooky indeed-

Episode 12 Weird & Strange Hauntings

We have all heard the stories of ghostly apparitions that look human in shape and are usually in a building of some sorts, but what about those spooky happenings that cannot be so easily defined and that happen outside? Listen to these extraordinary experiences, 2 of which are from ghost hunter and paranormal author, Andrew Green, and you’ll see what I mean……

Episode 11 Through Time and Space

Episode 11 - Through Time and Space- In this episode I’ll be sharing my own personal experiences of 2 mediumistic readings I gave in the mid-2000s. Do are loved ones communicate with us after they have died? Some people say they do and have had some amazing experiences that leave little doubt that it was their loved ones reaching out from beyond the veil. But what about those people who committed the most heinous of crimes whilst they were alive? Do they also try and communicate to whoever they think will listen to them?

Episode 10 Phantom Hitch Hikers

In this episode, I share 2 true life experiences of Phantom Hitch Hikers, both experienced in the UK.

The first experience happened in Somerset. On the A38, there is a 10 mile stretch of road where there have been many experiences of the same phantom. This phenomenon was reported in a local newspaper in the 1970s and it was a Mr Unsworth who contacted the newspaper after the report. Mr Unsworth reported several strange encounters with this spectre in the 1950s and it became very strange indeed……

The 2nd experience is a well known encounter and happened in Bedfordshire. It was a very unsettling experience for the driver, Roy Fulton, who ended up reporting the incident to the police.

If you’ve had a spooky encounter, whether it be a ghost, a loved one from beyond the grave, a cryptid or even an elemental, then I’d love to hear it. I won’t use your real name so anonymity is guaranteed.

Episode 9- Spooky Somerset

The podcast has a new intro- do you know which 1970s British children's show it emulates?

Somerset is a beautiful county in the West Country, has lush rolling hills, gorges, caves and along with it also being largely an agricultural area that produces the most amazing ciders and cheeses. It has also been occupied by humans since prehistoric times, so there's little wonder that it is indeed, a very haunted county with many myths and legends. I’ll share 3 experiences from this spooky county with you in this episode which all come from the writings of Peter Underwood.

The first experience is called The Candle Light Ghost and is from over 100 years ago. The second is called The Ghost Dog and the third is called The Haunting of Wookey Hole Cottage

Episode 8 - The Hauntings of Ghostly Gloucestershire

In this episode I’ll be sharing 3 ghostly experiences with you. These experiences involve a haunted rectory, a haunted pub and a horrifying time for a couple who were housesitting for their friends. What causes a haunting in a building? Do those who have died, come back to a place where they have unfinished business? And why is it that only some people get affected by ghostly behaviours and others don’t don’t see or hear anything?

Episode 7- Time Slips

In this episode, I’ll be sharing some real life experiences of Time Slips including one from a reader to the website that's never been publicly told before. Do people unexpectedly experience the past for just a moment or 2. The present seems to peel away and the experiencer gets to see what would’ve been in that area way back when.

Just what are these people actually experiencing? Does time actually have the ability to slip backwards? The 1st two experiences are from the Para Science website, researched and documented by Dr Ann Winsper but the 3rd and final experience is one that was told to me by a reader to the Mystical Times Blog website so it’s never been heard in public before…….

And don't forget, if you've had a spooky experience, especially if it happened in Gloucestershire then I'd love to hear about it. You can contact me here

Episode 6- More Ghostly Tales From Tewkesbury

We return to Tewkesbury to hear more ghostly tales from this medieval market town. The first is from a reader to the Mystical Times Blog website, who was witness to the ghostly goings on at the police station in the 1960’s and what was done to stop the haunting. The second true experience is from another reader to the website and tells of a strange figure seen in the back garden of one of Tewkesbury’s museums, that backs onto Tewkesbury Abbey. The final spooky experience is in the building that was once used for the Royal British Legion club, which also backs onto Tewkesbury Abbey. All of these spooky experiences seem to have a connection to Tewkesbury Abbey. As the abbey is over 900 years old, it’s not that surprising!

Episode 5- The Ghostly Tales of Tewkesbury

Tewkesbury is a medieval market town in Gloucestershire. The town is famous for the 1471 Battle of Tewkesbury, which was a decisive battle in the War of the Roses . The battle is re-enacted every year at the Tewkesbury Medieval Festival. It is also well known for its 900 year old abbey, buildings that are several hundred years old and along with its maze of historic alleyways, it's no surprise that Tewkesbury has its fair share of ghostly tales.

You can imagine the history that has happened around this medieval town, and if its buildings could talk, it could tell you many things, but it's the people who have witnessed ghostly activity in and around the town, that can make you wonder if the lives of those who once worked and lived here, have a story that needs to be told. From poltergeists, ghostly dogs to Roman soldiers and ghostly monks, it makes for a spooky listen!

Episode 4 Strange Happenings in Wiltshire

In the beautiful county of Wiltshire, there have been many strange happenings and in this episode I tell the experiences of 2 people who witnessed unsettling events whilst on carved white horse hills in Wiltshire. I looked into the paranormal history of church in a Wiltshire market town after my own personal spooky experience there and found there had been similar spectres seen throughout the ages and even the Society of Psychical Reason got involved. Then to the last experience that happened in the world famous site, Avebury Stone Circle- was it a time slip or a ghostly encounter? I’ll let you decide.

Episode 3- Haunted Prestbury

Prestbury in Gloucestershire is said to be the most haunted village in the country. There have been numerous sightings of ghosts in Prestbury, many during daylight hours, from ghosts of jockeys, medieval men on horseback to little old ladies, who peek through the windows and the most sighted ghost, The Black Abbot.

Christmas Special- The White Christmas Kitten - A short & festive folklore tale from many moons ago that took place on the road between Burford. Oxfordshire & Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire.

Episode 2

Haunted Pubs - In this episode, I share the real life spooky experiences of Joseph, who ran 2 pubs in Gloucestershire. I also look into some of the history of those pubs, to see if the hauntings have any connections to the past occupants.
