the village of Butleigh Wootton, which is near to
Glastonbury in Somerset. The experience happened in the early 1970s and, at
that time, a once grand mansion house, was laying empty and becoming dangerous
to enter. The local folklore about this once majestic house was that it was cursed,
and this was due to the digging up part of an old graveyard so that the
foundations of the house could be laid. At the time of it happening, the family
were warned not to build the house there, as no good would come of it, but the
building went ahead.
There was a beautiful Cedar tree lined driveway, and it
was here that our 2 witnesses tell of their weird experience. They were riding
a tandem bike and along where they were riding, they saw a very odd shape
moving up ahead in the road. As they drew up to where this odd shape was, and
on closer inspection, they saw the shape was a pair of men’s brown trousers and
boots, who were walking, it seems, with a purpose.
Needless to say, these 2 witnesses fled in horror and
fright at what they had just seen!
There have been several other accounts of this being
encountered and it’s always in this same vicinity. There have also been a few
other places in the UK where the same type of entity has been seen, Surrey and
Devon to name but two.
